Addison Grace - 6 Months

When your baby no longer fits on her "monthly update rug".. It's onto Plan B! She'd rather be sitting up anyway ;)

Weight: 18lbs
Length: 27in
Wearing: Size 6-9/6-12 month clothing and size 3 diapers.
Likes: Sitting up! Pulling mommy's hair, "petting" Lou & the cats, jumping in her jumper, singing songs, chewing on ALL the things.
Dislikes: Getting jammies on after her bath/getting dressed in general.

Eat
Addie is still eating about every 2-3 hours during the day. We've been giving her some different solids to try (banana, sweet potato, carrots, and avocado), but she hasn't been a big fan of anything yet so we're taking it pretty slow and just offering when she seems interested! We also introduced a sippy cup which she LOVES, but she mostly just chews on the top. And speaking of chewing.. Our girl still has no teeth! I was so sure that at least one of those suckers was going to pop through, but no such luck! I was a bit of a late teether when I was a baby, so maybe she takes after me? Hopefully she gets her daddy's perfectly-straight-with-no-braces teeth though ;)

She's not a fan of lemons either! ;)
Sleep
Slowly but surely getting better! Addie usually goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 p.m. and sleeps until between 5 and 6 a.m. waking once (sometimes twice) to eat. Her naps are still a little erratic, but she will usually take a nap 2 hours after waking up in the morning. For the rest of the day it's a bit of a guessing game as to when she'll take her next nap. If she's been awake for at least two hours and she seems tired, we'll take her upstairs and try for a nap. If she falls asleep, YAY, but if not we just continue with our day and try again later!

Play
We've struggled a bit this month with teething and exhaustion from lack of naps, but when Addie is feeling good she is such a blast! She has a ton of personality and is a busy little thing from the moment she wakes up in the morning. She loves to move and kick her legs, so playing in her jumper is one of her favorite activities - it's a Finding Nemo themed jumper and she's obsessed with the toy that looks like Bruce the shark! Addie sits up like a champ now and loves to sit in the shopping cart when we go to the store so she can mean mug everyone we pass ;) Bath time is still her absolute favorite, especially sucking bath water out of her wash cloth (ew) and then throwing a hissy fit when we take it away. Addie also still loves to be sung to and it's our go to solution any time she's being fussy, but she's not a fan of Christmas carols so I'll have to keep working on that!

Our sixth month with Addie has been a bit of a whirlwind - as usual! Mike has been busy with a lot of field time so we've been trying to keep equally as busy. She's still working on rolling from back to tummy, so I do my best to motivate her with toys but she usually gets up on her side and is content to stay there. We also take a walk every day and Addie loves to be out in the sunshine, especially if there's a breeze blowing through her fluffy hair! We make our way to the back of the neighborhood to feed the ducks that live back there and I pretend that Addie enjoys it as much as Lou and I do ;)

Next up for the Beards: THE HOLIDAYS! My sister Gracie and her boyfriend Will are flying into town this weekend to spend Thanksgiving with us and we are SO excited! As usual, we're hosting Thanksgiving at our house. Mike has already picked out a 28lb turkey (yes..... twenty. eight. pounds.) and we've got Cards Against Humanity at the ready for our after-dinner entertainment! Once we get through Thanksgiving it will be all about preparing for Addie's first Christmas! I can't wait to decorate the house, bring Addie to meet Santa, fill up her advent calendar... The list goes on and on! And speaking of Christmas... A few people have started asking us about gifts for Addie for her very first Christmas, so in addition to telling them that we want BOOKS! we created a little list for her on Amazon :)

Addie's Christmas List

Can you even believe my sweet baby is already half a year old?? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it! Happy hump day y'all! :)
