Total weight gain: 22+ lbs. I'll know for sure when I go to the doctor on Tuesday!
Maternity clothes? Mostly just relying on maxi dresses, skirts, and all things stretchy. The dress I'm wearing in the picture above is maternity from Target and I randomly found it on 50% clearance one day! Good thing, because it turned out to be the perfect dress for our anniversary dinner ;) Going forward I don't think I'll buy any other 'maternity' pieces unless I can find the perfect pair of shorts!
Stretch marks? I think that I have one but I don't know if it actually counts... That super tight spot where my belly button ring used to be has been looking a little red/purple lately and I think it may be turning into a stretch mark... I guess I'll just have to see what I'm left with once baby girl is born!
Sleep: I wake up more times overnight than I would like, but I really can't complain too much. I haven't had any insomnia at all, just an inability to sleep for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Good practice for the near future with a newborn!
Best moment this week: Definitely a tie between last week's three day weekend, and our anniversary yesterday.
Miss Anything? Coffee! Which sounds silly because I drink one cup of regular coffee every morning.. But before getting pregnant I was a bit of a coffee fiend - particularly for a nice big iced one! I look forward to not having to be SO cautious about my caffeine intake :)
Movement: More than ever and girlfriend is getting SASSY. She's really responsive to being poked and prodded, so sometimes we like to mess with her a little and see how hard she'll jab back at us! Which is all fun and games until mom gets a swift kick to the ribs.
Food cravings: Still craving sweets & waffles but not quite as much as I have been. I've noticed a slight decrease in my appetite lately so I'm not really sure what that is about... No aversions or anything like that, just not a huge interest in food in general.
Labor Signs: Nope! Baby girl seems perfectly content right where she is.
Symptoms: ALL the heartburn. I was making dinner the other night and just smelling the onion I was cutting gave me crazy heartburn. According to our last ultrasound, baby girl already has a ton of hair so maybe those old wive's tales are true! Other than that I'm still dealing with swollen hands and feet, achey joints, and feeling like a large, wobbly land beast.
Belly Button in or out? Still half and half.
Wedding ring on or off? It still depends on the day but for the most part they are off :( I know it's only temporary but it makes me so sad!
Happy or Moody most of the time: I would like to say happy but I've been a little emotional this week, complete with a full on ugly-cry breakdown in the Target parking lot. Growing a human is really hard sometimes!
Looking forward to: A fourth year of being married to my main man ;) and my mom gets here tomorrow!!
I was DYING to make an Easter basket for baby, but since she's not even able to enjoy it yet I figured that was probably a little insane silly. So I decided to channel all that festiveness into making a simple and fun "basket" for Mike instead! I took inspiration once again from one of my favorite blogs Little Baby Garvin and decorated & filled a six pack with a few special treats. It really wasn't anything over the top - a chocolate bunny, some of Mike's favorite protein bars, and a little bit of Easter candy - but it was enough to make him smile and that's all that matters to me! This may just turn into a tradition, even with a baby to fill a basket for next year! ;)
Three years ago Mike and I said 'I do' in a tiny office with a beach mural painted on the walls. We were only in the presence of three of our close friends and a magistrate who couldn't seem to pronounce "matrimony" correctly, but it was still one of the best days of my life! To celebrate this year, Mike whisked me away to Wilmington for an amazing dinner at Ruth's Chris steak house and some quality time together, which in my opinion was even better than the steak :)
Our life together may be a bit crazy, but I can honestly say it's only gotten better every year and this past year has been my very favorite! So to my incredible hubby - thank you for the best year of my life so far. I can only imagine how wonderful the next year (and the many, many more after that) will be with you by my side! I love you to the moon and back, always!
Next up for the Beards... I am RAPIDLY approaching my due date so everything baby related is being kicked into high gear! Hospital bags are being packed, we are finally almost done with the nursery, and we are trying like crazy to get every last detail into place before our sweet girl makes her arrival next month! Thankfully, my mom is coming into town tomorrow and is spending the week here to help me get everything in order! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as we did! :)
