Addison Grace - 4 Months

Weight: 14.4 lbs
Length: 25 in
Head Circumference: 41.5 cm
Wearing: mostly 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers.
Likes: grabbing her toes, bath time, squealing, being outside, her pink owl, chewing on EVERY thing!
Dislikes: being in the car, having a dirty diaper.

Eat
We are still exclusively breastfeeding and her schedule is still pretty much the same! Addie eats about every 2-3 hours during the day, and then cluster feeds leading up to bed time. While she eats at the same frequency as she did before, I've started to notice that it takes her a lot less time. What used to be 20-25 minute feedings, are now turning into 10 minute feedings which means less time to mindlessly scroll through my Instagram feed ;)

Sleep
Up until about 2 weeks ago, Addie was on a pretty consistent schedule. Her sleep pattern typically looked something like this:

7:30 a.m. - Wake
9:30-10:15 a.m. - First nap
1:00-4:30 p.m. - Second nap
6:30-7:00 p.m. - Third nap
10:30 - Bedtime (sleeping through the night!)

I was a HUGE fan of this schedule (except for the late bedtime) but about two weeks ago her sleep was all over the place. She started waking once or twice over night to eat and waking for the day around 6 a.m. Her naps became pretty unpredictable and she was a bit of a grump! I feel a little silly complaining about my 4 month old waking over night to eat (a lot of babies this age are still eating every 2-3 hours overnight!) but it was a total change from the long stretches of sleep I had become used to and I was so tired! I think Addie may have been hitting a little bit of a growth spurt combined with a touch of the dreaded four month sleep regression, but she seems to be getting back on track now! Through a little bit of trial and error and A LOT of coffee, I've realized she's on more of a two-a-day nap schedule which has been (and hopefully will continue) bringing an earlier bed time! We decided to move her from our room to her nursery over night and so far it's going well! She's been sleeping in there for naps for the last month or so and we finally felt like she was ready to go in there over night as well. Of course, it helps that we have a video monitor so I can obsessively watch her breathe without getting up out of bed ;)

Play
Addie has been a busy little bee ever since day one and that still hasn't changed! She finally doesn't scream her way through tummy time, so I like to lay on the floor with her and read stories or sing along to the toddler station on Pandora. She enjoys looking at the pictures in some of the board books we have for her and I absolutely love sitting in the recliner with her in my lap while I read to her. Addie is all about being upright so she really likes standing in our laps and sitting in the Bumbo. She's getting really good at grabbing things and bringing them up to her mouth, so we like to give her all different kinds of objects to practice with like soft blocks, stuffed animals, and rattles, but her favorite things to chew on are her own fingers! She's also mastered the art of grabbing her toes during diaper changes and even in her carseat, which is SO dang cute! She rolled from tummy to back for the first time on September 2nd and she's working really hard on rolling back to tummy. Addie really found her voice this past month and loves to babble to herself and try to imitate our sounds - she's really mastered the "ahh-goo" ;)

So I think it's safe to say that we've moved out of the newborn phase and are in total baby mode now! Addie is so much fun and it blows my mind how much she has learned in the past month. She is so alert and engaged, and is really starting to develop a little personality and with that comes some definite sass! She knows exactly the right little screech to let out if she feels like you're not paying attention to her, and she'll break into a sweet little smile once she gets her way. I think we're in trouble! ;)

Happy four months my Addie girl!
You light up our lives, keep us on our toes, and we love you so!
