I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend! For the first time in a couple weeks, we didn't have family in town, Mike didn't have to work, we weren't in the middle of a move... Basically we actually had a little down time to enjoy! The weather here has been absolutely beautiful in the mornings, cool and a little breezy, but still bright and sunny. Perfect weather to wander our new neighborhood and take Lou for a nice, long walk!
On Saturday we had some errands to run but not before Mike snuck in a little nap ;)
We had to stop by the old house to meet a contractor who was taking measurements to replace the carpet, which is some pretty darn good luck for us! No steam cleaning, no attempting to repair a couple corners where the gray babies got a little uh... excited. It's a huge relief!
Once we were done there, we paid a visit to the pumpkin patch we went to last year at the Northwoods United Methodist Church to finally pick out some pumpkins for our new house! I had a vision of what I wanted our front porch to look like and I was not disappointed by this year's selection!
About an hour and a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins later we were on our way back home :)
This isn't even all of them... I have a pumpkin problem. |
Good thing I have a smokin' hot hubby to wheel them all around for me! :) |
Our little pumpkin collection! Plus some little ones and some funky shaped gourds, but I haven't found a home for those yet. |
On Sunday we took another long walk with Lou and when we got home we got down to business! Mike has a pretty demanding school schedule for the next couple weeks so to make it a little easier on him I prepped some breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos to keep in the freezer. It's a loooot of prep work (cooking bacon, eggs, sausage, building sammies, rolling burritos...) but they're fairly easy to put together and Mike loves them!
After the kitchen was put back together, it was pumpkin carving time!! We bought a bunch of pumpkins last year and had every intention of carving a couple of them but somehow we never got around to it. This year I was not gonna let that fly! Especially since we will have a TON of trick or treaters in our new neighborhood :)
That grin... Gets me every time :) |
My man and a handful of guts... Ow oww ;) |
I helped too! ....a little. |
Mostly I contributed by drinking mimosas and rocking a super cute top knot. |
A fine looking Jack O' Lantern if you ask me! |
Next up for the Beards.. We're planning a Halloween party (of course!) and still trying to get settled into our new house. I'm really hoping for some spectacular Black Friday deals so I can fill up all this extra space! ;) Mike has a little less than five weeks left of school (thank God) and once that's over we'll be gearing up for the holiday season! This year is seriously flying by, pause button please??
And of course, a cute Lou picture to finish off this post! Happy Monday friends! :)
