See what I did there? Hehe.
I hope you all had a fun and festive Fourth of July! In typical Beard fashion, we decided to celebrate the US of A by throwing a party. A little bit of food, lots of beer, and a great time with our friends :)
Feelin' so American y'all! |
Two days later, I was on my way to Texas to visit family and do an obscene amount of wedding planning! First I flew to Houston, where I met my dad and we stayed with my grandparents for a few days. I stuffed my face, played lots of cards, and (for the first time in my life) drove a jet ski around Lake Conroe!
Lake hair, don't care. |
This was our FAVORITE Mexican place in Kingwood way back in 2001. I can't believe it was still there (and still just as good)! |
After that we drove up to Austin, and in just a few short days managed to...
Meet my florist and see a mock up of my centerpieces.
Just a tiny little peek... They are too fabulous! |
Meet and book an awesome DJ.
Go to an incredible menu tasting hosted by my venue & choose most of the food we're going to serve.
Meet with my wedding coordinator to decide on about 90% of the wedding details, big and small.
All while continuing to stuff our faces of course!
Are you anywhere near Austin? Good. Go to Fuzzy's, order yourself some shredded beef tacos, and smother them in this sauce. NOW! You can thank me later ;) |
Mike & I saw this place, The Noble Sandwich Co., on Diner, Drive-Ins, & Dives so naturally I had to check it out. Hoooooooly mother it was good. |
And on top of all of that I got to spend lots of time with my amazing in-laws :) I am truly lucky to have such an awesome (and BIG) family that all love and support me! You guys are the best!
So as of today, the majority of the wedding stuff is DONE! The invitations were sent out today, and if I never have to so much as look at an envelope again, I will be a happy girl. I also updated our wedding website to include lodging information! My dad has reserved a block of rooms at the Orangewood Suites hotel which is located really close to the Barr Mansion, plus I listed the names of a few other hotels in the area just in case. All of that info & pretty much anything else regarding the wedding can be found here, the website is also available through my Facebook page :)
I really did have a great stay in Texas, but 10 days is a LONG time to be away from my hubs and fur babies! Needless to say, I was beyond happy to get home on Wednesday night. And not just because I got treated to Chipotle ;)
I live for this :) |
Next up for the Beards... We have two HUGE announcements on the horizon! One is regarding Mike's newest career decision & the other.... Well you'll just have to wait and see :)
