Happy Earth Day everyone! I am doing my part to be earth friendly today by NOT driving all the way across town to the gym, thereby reducing gas emissions into the atmosphere. It's definitely not because I'm feeling lazy... No way. I am simply doing my duty as a resident of our lovely planet ;)
Moving on... Mike got a much needed three day weekend for Easter and we took full advantage! By that I mean he slept A LOT and we lived in pj's and ate our body weight in candy :)
Get it? Hoppy? Ha ha. My sad little gift to Mike in place of a whole basket this year. |
He's into his third week of school now and we're slowly adjusting to the extremely rigorous schedule. The first week he came home around 8:30 on Monday night, left again at 4 on Tuesday morning and that was the last I saw/heard from him until Friday at 4 p.m. Talk about a rough first week! Luckily, the second week was easier (not EASY, just less horrible than the first). On a typical day he would wake up between 3:30 and 4 and work, run, who even knows what until about 7:30 or 8 p.m.
Misery I tell you, absolute misery.
So our daily interaction consisted of a half asleep kiss goodbye in the morning, then nothing for about 14 hours, then an immediate shower while I fixed a quick dinner, we'd stuff our faces as quickly as possible, then Netflix and bed.
Such an exciting life we lead ;)
Honestly though, I can't complain too much. I would definitely prefer to have him home every night, even if just for a few hours, than not at all! And overall, he is doing really well. He is completely exhausted and stressed out to the max, but he has a good attitude and is working his ass off (literally!) so I think in the end all of this suffering hard work will pay off.
In other news, I GET TO GO HOME THIS WEEK! I don't even have words for how excited I am. I get to spend a whole week with my mom and my sister, do some WAY overdue birthday shopping, get my sister ready for her first prom, go to a Super Target and skip through the aisles... Seriously though.
There's a teeny, tiny part of me that feels guilty for leaving Mike and the gray babes to fend for themselves for an entire week, but it's being squashed down by my overwhelming excitement :) That's what Skype is for right?
Could they be any cuter? I'm so glad Mike will have these snuggle bugs while I'm away :) |
Hopefully I'll remember to take some pictures while I'm there? No promises. The good news is that by the time I get back, Mike will be almost a third of the way through school! It's the little things :)
