The "I took my husband to work at 6 this morning" look. Cute, huh? ;) |
How far along? 27 weeks + 1 day.
Total weight gain: I think I caught myself at a really heavy moment last week because I stepped on the scale yesterday while cleaning the bathroom and it informed me that I've gained about 10 pounds and not 12. Weight is such a strange thing to keep track of! So I guess I'll say that since getting back to my pre-preggo starting weight after being sick in the first trimester, I've gained somewhere between 10-12 pounds.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new.
Stretch marks? None :)
Sleep: Still kind of iffy... I've been waking up pretty frequently over night so I really look forward to days that I can sleep in because I seem to get my best sleep in the early morning hours.
Nausea: Nope.
Best moment this week: So lately baby girl has been so active and she's getting so big that her movements are starting to feel really different. There are times when I can clearly feel a little foot or elbow or something and I've described it to Mike like feeling marbles move around under my skin. Well he was convinced that this was something only I was able to feel, but last night her little marbles were rolling around near my belly button and Mike was able to feel it for the first time! I wish I could've gotten a picture of his face! He was so excited to feel her and I'm really happy he was able to experience that before he left today :)
Miss Anything? Not gonna lie, I've had a few moments this week that really made me wish for a big glass of wine!
Movement: TONS. I'm starting to feel her a lot higher up so I'm nervously anticipating the first time she kicks me straight in the ribs ;)
Food cravings: My sweet tooth is out of control. Lucky for me, my mom sent us a King Cake and that seems to do the trick!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Nothing new. Still dealing with congestion, heartburn, soreness... Pretty much all the usual stuff at this point.
Belly Button in or out? Just barely hanging on as an innie!
Wedding ring on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: My dad is coming for a long weekend towards the end of the month, and just after that Mike will be home! :)
So for the last three weeks, Mike has been on a pretty crazy schedule as he works on transitioning to a new job. I can't go into too much detail yet, but the last three weeks have involved some pretty intense physical training, 6 day work weeks, and long, unpredictable hours. This morning he left for the next part of the training which will take place over three more weeks, without a cell phone, away from Camp Lejeune. Unfortunately, that means I won't hear from him at all until I get the call to pick him back up, but this is an incredibly important opportunity for Mike and for our family so I think I can tough it out with the fur babies for a little while ;) Now if only I could tell my crazy pregnant hormones to stop reminding me that this is almost the exact same time that he left for deployment a year ago... IT'S FINE :)
While Mike is gone I don't have much planned other than focusing on baby stuff and trying to stay active. I have lots of little things I need to purchase/organize for the nursery and my 28 week appointment is coming up on the 17th. With some slightly warmer weather on the horizon (and before my belly gets too big) I also want to tackle some spring cleaning because the house could REALLY use it.. Just ask the dog/cat hair tumbleweeds lurking under my couch ;)
And finally.. I don't normally share recipes but THIS one was just TOO delicious to keep to myself! I definitely wouldn't consider this a healthy dinner (hello bacon and garlic cream sauce) but if you have a night where you feel like completely indulging, then I insist that you give this a try! Bonus points that you can make it all in one pan (minus the bacon because I baked that off in the oven) so clean up was minimal, and Mike and I basically licked our bowls clean! And on that note... May your weekend be filled with sunshine and yummy pasta! :)
