Happy 2015 friends!
I hope you all celebrated with friends, family, and lots of bubbly!
We had a few friends over to the house with lots of food and drink, and as a bonus I got to kiss my favorite guy at midnight ;)
2014 was a really big year for the Beards. It was our first full year of living together. It was the year we got a dog. It was a year of great accomplishment for Mike - he was promoted to Sergeant and he worked his way through one of the most difficult schools the Marine Corps offers to become a Scout Sniper. We had the wedding of our dreams. We moved houses. We finally got to spend every single holiday together!
It was a good year :)
I love looking back at the past 12 months but I am definitely ready to see what this new year has in store for us because I already know that 2015 is going to be completely different from 2014! Mike is deploying at the end of this month and he will be gone for about half the year. While he is away, we will have to make a decision regarding Mike's next career move which could potentially mean another move towards the end of the year... As usual, lots on the horizon for us!
Happy New Year from Lou too! Even with a long blonde mama hair hanging out of his mouth ;) |
As far as resolutions go, I originally typed that I'm "not that into them" but in reality I just have never really followed through with them! So this year Mike and I decided to make some general goals for the next year as a whole and the two biggest ones were:
- Make a decision about Mike's next career move that will most benefit our family and our future.
- Focus on being as happy and healthy as we can before, during, and after this deployment.
Seems pretty obtainable right?? Of course we both have smaller, more specific goals as well. For example, I really want to learn the ins and outs of my new camera and figure out how to take great photos. And if you want to get even more specific, I'd like to get our house a bit more put together so I can finally post a house tour ;)
But for now we are focusing on spending as much time together as we can. Stuff like putting off housework so we can sleep in together a little later, running errands together, taking Lou for long walks when the weather is nice.. It seems small, but every moment really does count!
Until next time :) Happy New Year!
Enjoyed the update as always. You two look fabulous. Be safe and enjoy your time together. Love you both, Big Sister, H
